Hi!

I was moving wood today, when I found a rather large clutch of small eggs.

I've been moving wood around this area for quite some time, and I am afraid I may have scared the creature trying to hatch them away!

The eggs are round at the bottom, and come to a sharp rounded point. They're about a dollar coin size. They have brown specks all over them.

I know that we have pheasants and quails around here. Does that description match either? Or are we talking about a different animal. >:

  1. If the eggs have a hard shell, they are bird eggs.  The eggs of reptiles have rubbery shells.

By the size my best guess would also be quail, bobwhite, etc.  The eggs of most song birds are quite tiny.

  2. Brown speckled eggs, did it look like this photo- http://z.about.com/d/phoenix/1/0/y/r/1/c...  than they were probably quail eggs.

  3. If the egg is slightly yellowish but more white, then I think its quail eggs
