I am traveling to Cozumel from the US next week. Do they use the same plugs as us or will I have to get a converter of some kind? Thanks!

  1. Same electrical setup as in USA.  contact Verizon for information on use of phones there.  In some cases, you have to enable service for the specific country of visit.  The phone type is also specific to certain countries.  It's sorta like saying you can't listen to FM radio on a radio that only receives AM signal.  Verizon will tell you the answers.

  2. The plugs are the same here and in USA.

Your cellular service dependes on the contract you have to your company; Verizon works in México with Iusacell company. I've been in USA and I have cel service from verizon (I have a Iusacell phone), but you MUST call you cel company and ask them before coming.

Right now I'm connected to internet with BAM service from Iusacel (BAM= Mobile Broad Band in spanish)

  3. They use the same outlets as out here. I doubt your phone will work out there even if it did I wouldn't use it because I went to Mexico about two months ago and while I was down there I used my phone(at&t) and when I got back I had a nice $2000 phone bill waiting for me at home.

  4. Most electrical outlets LACK the third ground contact like here in the States.

Try using voice over IP for communications. Internet cafes are everywhere.

My Net 10 pay as you go ,dialed local numbers no problem and was " roaming " .

  5. Same as here. Ur Verizon phone won't work there !
