  1. Homo habilis lived just over 1.5 million years ago, so it was pretty much just wilderness.  they were really the first genus/species to use tools, which an example would be taking a rock and banging it until it made a sharp point which would then be used for "hunting".  not really hunting as you'd think of it today, but similar......


  2. Africa over a very long period of time was changing from a jungle type environment and becoming more like the savannahs seen in africa today. This is why bipedal creatures, like homo habilis, became more successful then other brachiators (primates desgned to navigate in trees very well).

  3. With other 'homos', I guess. Good enough, yes?
