I've never heard of any exam for that.  But it would be a state matter, and so individual states may require some sort of credentialing.  I'm not aware of any, though.  I think it's kind of like selling cars - there may be some requirement that you not be a convicted crook or something, but no licensing exam.

    If your state has a Department of Insurance (mine, Ohio, does), contact them for information.

  4. In South Carolina you are requires to take a pre licensing course and then pass the state licensing exam.  Continuing education credits are required to maintain your license.  I would imagine most states are similar.  You can find out your states requirements by checking out your state's website.  South Carolina has a department of insurance so your state would probably have a similar department.  Try googling it.
