  1. LUNGES!!!! your using your legs pretty much 100% of the time in waterpolo when your egg beatering. start your lunges now and it makes a big difference. O, and join a swim team in the off season, its pretty tough without that endurance under your belt.

  2. water polo is a very tough sport... you definately need to know how to swim- not exactly long distances but you need the strenght and enduarnce to sprint and keep moving during a game. you will also need to practice which will be easier if you are in swimming shape. work on freestyle, some backstroke and in waterpolo you do freestyle with your head up so it uses a lil bit diffent muscles so start doing that. when you play or practice, you eggbeater which is very similar to a nonsymmetrical breaststrroke kick to tread. this is thighs and alot of your legs. you need to be able to do this for long periods of time so start this. when you throw or catch use your arms so strengthen those. waterpolo basically uses all muscle groups.... i reccomend work on your swimming and proabaly weight training. it is a hardcore sport and you will get pushed around so be prepared to be rough back and do take chances. don't be afraid. i hope you love this sport.... it's amaxing and so much fun to get into.

if you could find a club team or anything that has waterpolo now try that. maybe join a swimteam or swim on your own. lift and do core work and weight training. get in as best shape as you can now and the season and it will be much easier during season and you can focus more on skills rather than getting in shape because you already will be. it may be hard but so worht it! good luck!

  3. swim thats all you need to do in water polo, you could do shoulder and back work outs if you want. might help
