I have a 2001 325xi. I want LOUD sound, adequate addition of performance, pretty good gas mileage, and a pretty inexensive exhaust. My means of inexpensive is $1,000-1.600.

What are the pros and cons of getting an aftermarket exhaust?

  1. LOL yes it is BIMMER.  I have found that all the aftermarket stuff usually causes some sort of problem.  When I put a non stock exhaust on I try to put the heat shielding on if I can. The stock systems are great most have almost 0 back pressure and BMWs LOVE low low back pressure.

  2. It's beemer, not bimmer. Christ.

    Pro: none.

Con: your flakey beemer will sound ricey and like a can full of mad bees, and everyone will laugh behind your back. On second thought, since you're driving a beemer, they'll laugh in your face.

A f**t pipe on a beemer. Christ, sign of the end times.

  3. The Austrian company Remus has some great exhausts our for the e46 Bimmers. They are a reputable company also and are used by VW, Audi, and Porsche to make there OEM line. If your looking for something a little more "BMW", the tuner company Dinan makes some great looking and sounding exhausts.
