What kind of fish bites with two perfect circles that are about 3 inches apart?

we live in florida. whatever it was it was in about waist deep water in the ocean and it was two holes about half an inch big each and the holes were about 3 inches apart and were very even.

Possibly a leech biting more than once, or 2 leeches.  However, you probably would have found the leeeches still attached.  You didn't say whether they were deep holes like from teeth or just circles.  If they are actual holes, that eliminates the leech theory.
