After the first three months of service they get unlimited space available tickets for themselves and for their family.  They also receive a limited number of space available tickets for extended family and friends.  For the first five years they have to pay a service fee to use their passes (minimal).  After 5 yrs it is free.  If you are seeking employment with AA right now, do not bother...they are getting ready to furlough (lay off) 2,000 flight attendants.  They wont be hiring soon.
