  1. Laminate

  2. Wood flooring with a tough stain/sealant and tile flooring. I've been remodeling homes for about 10 years and this is what I recommend to anyone with dogs.

  3. Acid stain your concrete. I hate carpet too. Bad on my allergies.

    See my ehow article at

    Pictures are there.

  4. there are some great laminates out there that won't scratch easily, plus its cheaper.   But hardwood is a better quality, although it could be easily scratched, it could also be fixed easily.  but it costs more

  5. You have a lot of options....

See the following web page on flooring options - there are 15 branch off pages on types of flooring from bamboo to vinyl!

Check out the various choices - it will help you make a good decision.

    Hope this helps!

  6. they claim that laminate floors are tougher ,  I love the laminate in the living room, dining room and bedrooms including the hall way, for the kitchen and bath I prefer ceramic floors, with 2 dogs you are better off to get rid of the carpet, but either ways when it's wet outside you will need to wipe the dogs paws off with an old towel that you will keep beside the door , to save yourself from cleaning .

  7. ceramic tile.  It's durable, easily cleaned, and a wonderful look.  And  there's lots of colors to choose from to coordinate with any look you want.

  8. My mother has two small dogs and she got rid of her carpet and got imitation wood floors. you can't tell the difference and clean up is so easy. a mop and a swiffer and your done.

  9. I think ceramic tile is a good suggestion.  There is plenty of choice out there for ceramic tile, even if you're looking for a wood grain effect. Ceramics and porcelain tile are really durable, and very moisture resistant.  But, I wouldn't rule out laminate flooring.  As long as you're dilligent about cleaning up doggie messes, laminate will serve you well as a surface that is scratch-resistant, easily cleared of pet hair, and (possibly most importantly) cheaper in comparison to a lot of types of flooring.  Just make sure to get a good quality laminate - at least a rating of AC3.  Ask your seller about the rating before you buy, and let them know about your pets.  From here, they should be able to steer you toward some great laminate products which will help you stay on track, budget-wise.
