  1. If you don't have any water issues in your basement use Pergo. It's cheap, looks like wood and easy to install on your own.

  2. Laminate is your best bet.

Laminate can look like marble, tile, and even real wood! Except, it can be 75% less than wood.

Wood is beautiful, but can be easily damaged. Laminate does not scratch and does not dent. It's very easy to clean, and can look like real wood!

    Also, no mold!

  3. For a basement and to keep it cheap I would do a vinyl floor that looks like wood floors, it can go over the cement with little prep and then use scatter rugs that coordinate with comforter pilllows etc.

Easy to clean for your animals sake too. They definelty don't look like high quality wood flooring but they look crisp and clean and will be alot more sanitary than anything else being they aren't porous like concrete and wood or carpet.

  4. After ripping it up...paint it. Then use area rugs. That's the cheapest. I recommend a laminate floor. If you go with carpet, use a good quality pad. Painting it will help with the odor too.

  5. laminate wood

cleans easier looks nicer and laminate is pretty cheap

  6. wood. light brown wood. shiney too!

and when somethin falls or pees or poops, its easy to pic up

  7. hard wood floor, but you can actually leave it cement, and do the industrial look, i love cement as flooring, just clean it up, fresh coat of gray paint and a big rug!
