  1. Something from the Aster family (which would include daisies) for certain.  More than likely it is some type of aster - it seems to have a purple tinge to the ray petals, but that might be due to the lighting.  If it's indeed purple, it might help to know the region where you live and more about the leaves to make a more definite identification.  You can browse the photos here http://plants.usda.gov/java/imageGallery... to see what resembles resembles your flower, then check it against the US map to see if it's around you (if you're from the US).  Also, if there are pictures of the leaves, that might help you - some asters have long, thin leaves, others are heart-shaped, and some have leaves that clasp the stem.

    You might also want to try entering your zip code into this website http://www.enature.com/home/ , then on the page you get after you've entered the zip code, change the results category from birds to wildflowers.
