Question:

What kind of flowers are they?

I believe they bloomed in late spring early summer. They look like piles of grass like maybe crab grass until they have pretty pinkish flowers that come out. I think they bloom during the day and close at night. they are not morning glories.

  1. It's a plant called Showy Evening Primrose (Oenothera speciosa) a native wildflower to North America.There are also hundreds of other species that look just like it. It's related to Guara and a plant called Willowherb. Are any of these your plant?

    The Guara answer is what give me the suspicion that you had an Oenothera species.
