  1. There is nothing illegal about freon R12. I am licensed and can purchase R12 at the store. I don't use it much as it's too expensive and there are a number of replacements for it. You will have to check what you have in your a/c. The conversion to R134a started in the late 90's I believe.


  2. it is only a liquid under severe pressure. but if it is older than a 92, it was r12, and after 93 it is r134a.

    You have to use R134a refrigerant.

    Both are made by DuPont exclusively i believe.

  7. Uh....R-12 is freon genius.

    It's been R-134 for about 14 years now.
