What kind of fluid is used is a door closer?

actually a multiviscosity special blend of hyduralic oil, differant brands use differant blend such as norton, they call their special blend norglide and LCN calls their ultra-x

if you have a leaking closer (commercial door kind) the best substitute thats safe i would say would be mineral oil or power steering fluid for a boat.

if its a screen door closer (tube kind) sorry to say but its not refillable and best advice is to replace the closer
