Question:

What kind of flying insect is about 2" long, yellow and black stripes, looks like a mix of wasp and bee.?

I live in North Central Texas and I see this "thing" all the time. I haven't been close enough to one to see if it has a stinger or not, but I'm sure it does. It has the body of a wasp (except twice the size almost) and stripes like a bumble bee.

  1. Yeah, sounds like a yellow jacket hornet. They can pack one heck of a punch, so don't make 'em mad!


  2. Maybe its just a really big yellow jacket.
