  1. well you can serve fried chicken rice or tuna salad or mac and cheese with toss salad.

  2. a few different kinds of pastas, salads, get 2 different like 6 footer heros, and for dessert cupcakes or small individual cakes.

  3. I hosted a couple of baby showers that were also early to mid afternoon. I served lasagna roll ups, a tossed salad, and lots of  different breads. This recipe is not hard to do. The wow's you get from the guests will well be worth the effort. For the sweets I served a platter of pastries and a platter of several types of cookies.

Figure on 1/2 to 1 noodle per person

6 uncooked plain lasagna noodles (6 ounces)

6 uncooked whole wheat lasagna noodles (6 ounces)

    1 pound lean ground beef

1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)

1 jar (14 ounces) tomato pasta sauce (any variety)

1 can (8 ounces) mushroom pieces and stems, undrained

1 container (15 ounces) ricotta cheese

1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed to drain

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)

    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/4 teaspoon pepper

    2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

Additional grated Parmesan cheese, if desired

    1. Heat oven to 350ºF. Cook and drain noodles as directed on package.

    2. Cook beef and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in pasta sauce and mushrooms. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Pour into ungreased rectangular baking dish, 11x7x1 1/2 inches.

    3. Mix ricotta cheese, spinach, mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, the salt, pepper and garlic. Spread 3 tablespoons of the cheese mixture over each noodle. Roll up each noodle; cut roll crosswise in half. Place cut sides down in beef mixture.

    4. Cover and bake about 30 minutes or until hot. Serve with additional Parmesan cheese.

    Variation

Improvise! Use plain lasagna noodles for the whole wheat noodles.

    Special Touch

Garnish the lasagna rolls with chopped fresh parsley.

    Success

Thawed frozen spinach has the miraculous capacity to hold water even when you drain it in a colander. Squeezing the spinach, as you would ring out a washcloth, is the best way to rid it of the excess water that may make recipes too watery. If you don’t want to use your bare hands to squeeze it, try using several layers of sturdy, high-quality paper towels.

  4. Tea sandwiches (cucumber or tomato or watercress) ...  Fruit kebobs .... veggie & dip platter ...Sweet platter with chocolate covered strawberries, petit fours, mini cheesecake bites, brownie bites and a cupcake tree with blue and/or pink cupcakes ... dishes of blue and/or pink Jordan almonds (or jelly bellies)...

My mom always made a Sandwich loaf for baby showers, and it makes a really pretty presentation.  Get a whole loaf of unsliced bread (your bakery may even make it in pink or blue for you).  Slice horizontally in 3 layers, and fill with chicken, egg and/or ham salad.  Frost the entire thing with softened cream cheese and sprinkle with parsley.  Slice down through it to serve.   She also made cream puffs shaped like swans for desserts:)

  5. chciken salad, quiche and cupcakes

  6. You should go buy a couple pounds of BBQ and some rolls.

Then you could use sides like cheese cubes and potato chips.

As far as sweets, you could get a Jelly Roll or cupcakes.

This way its all easy and finger food-ish, but a the same time good and a little more filling.

    Congrads!

  7. finger foods,baby quiche,small things!!and fairy cakes

  8. You could serve an afternoon tea. Suggestions for food: Small finger sandwiches, cupcakes, small jam or fruit tarts, scones with jam and/or cream, mini danish pastries, small savouries such as sausage rolls or savoury tarts. To drink, champagne or maybe some fruit punch (non alcoholic of course!)
