it's my 20th birthday, not going to have a big party but just MAYBE 8 of my freinds, i dont really know anyone else in this state, i just moved here. i dont have a job, so i cant do too much. are chips&dips, sodas, BYOB(ooze), s'mores (lol - bonfire!) and ordering a few pizzas alright? or do i have to have burgers and dogs? i hang out with a lot of older guys, from 23-28. there's only one other girl in our group, 21. i'm seriously the baby of the group and dont want to make a fool of myself.

and also, if you water down glow in the dark paint will it still glow? (for water ballons) im thinking just to have something so we dont get all bored, ash, pat, and i are really hyper and can get everyone going. so a few oversized dollar store beach balls, glowsticks/bracelets, glowpaint water ballons, and how do i get music about 150 ft away from the house? do i just burn a few cds and play them on the car stereo?

PLEASE HELP!!! lol.

  1. brats, and burgers sound like they would do the trick.  Pizza can get cold too fast.  Keep the coals hot or the grill ready to heat up a couple more burgers or brats.  I imagine the paint would still glow.  Speaker wire isn't to expensive run them out to the backyard from a window.  Happy Birthday.

  2. Sorry but I don't know who ash and pat are, anyhow a bonfire calls for a barbeque, everyone should help. Get the girl to make the salad the boys to cook the sausages and meat and onions and buy some bread rolls and sauce. Have some music in the background and sit around the fire with marshmellows on sticks, don't ask people if they are enjoying it, just do it and go with the flow they should be able to entertain themselves so don't overdo it. Get a few extension cords for the music or something with batteries

  3. I would say to get some glow in the dark paint, water it down and try it out.  Otherwise it sounds like an all-around fun little party!  I would go the hot dog route, just cause if you are having a bonfire, its like hot dogs on a campfire, then they can be cooked as they are needed by the people that need them...no waste!  Chips and dip is good too!

  4. 1.  Hobo stew.......Put a hamburger patty on a piece of foil....put some carrots..and potatoes.....salt and pepper...seal it up and put it in the coals.

    2.  Shrimp skewers over the fire......until pink and white in color.

    3.  Oysters........you don't have to open them put them in foil pouches and put them on or over the fire.......they pop right open...

    4.  Have a shrimp boil......start out with small red potato's in the kettle.....add the corn when potato's are done.....when corn is done add the shrimp and cook for 3 minutes.......have large paper bags ripped open on the table......and several  toss able tin foil roaster pans in the center of the table you dump it onto...

    5.  Jiffy pop popcorn

    6.  Marsh mellows on the wire

    7.  Hot dogs on the wire

Big lots has some grass umbrellas.........and the Dollar Tree has a lot of neat looking summer plates and party decorations......

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

  5. It sounds like to me that you have everything ready to go.

This sounds like a great plan.

I have never watered down glow paint...but I would say it would either

    A. Not Work or

    B. Make it glow dull.

Other than that, it sounds like you will not make a fool out of yourself.

You don't absolutely need hot dogs and hamburgers.

If you can not afford them, and your friends still want them, just have them bring some.

I am sure they will be glad to help. =D

    Good Luck.

it sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun! =D

  6. Wow, that sounds REALLY fun. Great ideas. As far as the water balloons are concerned, buy the mini light sticks and don't open them. Just stick them (after lighting them) into the balloon and fill them with water. They'll create enough light as is.

For food, hobo packs for a campfire are awesome. Hamburger and potato, or white fish with cilantro, oil and veggies, or even a mixed veggie pack. See link below.

If you had a dutch oven, you could make a stew of some type, but the fire needs to mostly coals, so you'd have to start the fire early and throw in the stew and build a bigger fire later. Not sure if you want to mess with that, but it would be good!

Tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa would be awesome.

If one of your friends has a boom box that you could borrow, that would be great. I wouldn't mess with the car unless you have a power inverter that plugs into the cigarette lighter to power an appliance. Speaker wire extension is not a bad idea. You may have to modify the connection to accommodate the speaker wire, though, if it has a male-female connection and the back instead of the press down type connection. But you guys will be making enough music of your own!

I hope you have a great bday. Your plans are awesome.
