  1. they eat allot of cheese

    italian salads

    pizza

    pretzel

    italian ices

    spaggetti

  2. They actually eat a lot of fish and seafoods.. Italy is surrounded by water so they have ready access to the sea. They eat lots of fish, mussels, oysters etc.

  3. Pasta and Pizza.

  4. Unlike the American - Italian spaghetti and meatballs and pizza... real Italians eat healthy; fish, sea foods, beef, pork, salamis, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, pastas, biscuitti, gelato, wine, mineral water.

  5. As the answerer above correctly stated, Italians do eat lots of "fish, sea foods, beef, pork, salamis, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, pastas, biscuitti, gelato, wine, mineral water."

The pork is much better in Europe, as is fish, sea foods, beef, pork, salamis, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, pastas, biscotti, gelato, wine, mineral water, lol. Seriously; I don't know why, but the fruit and veggies are way better. The breads are beyond comparison, etc. Some people get mineral water directly from spigots  on the side of a mountain, too. Wine is often homemade, as is pasta. One thing not mentioned was the use of Olive Oil ; they use it a LOT! The only thing I preferred is American beef. Unless you spend a lot of money, beef is not as tender as here in the states.

I'm American and love our country, but I must admit if you spend extended periods of time in Italy, or other parts of "civilized" western Europe, and return to the states, it's likely you will suffer "food culture shock" for several months when returning here to the U.S. It takes time to adapt to the hollow taste of American processed, shipped, frozen, preserved, hormone injected, radiated, and coming soon, "cloned" foods.
