  1. the Japanes copied some Chinese dishes and added their own variations.

  2. no the japanese have eel rolls.

  3. Chinese focus on veggie rolls, rice with chicken, and similar foods (i.e. beef with broccoli). Japanese focus on more western cuisine with shrimp and steak, lobster and crab dishes (rolls) sushi as compared to the greasy dishes the Chinese have.

  4. There is a difference in ingredients and style. Both have egg rolls but whats inside is different. It has been a while since I have had an actual Japanese egg roll but I eat Chinese food all the time. Also the way they prepare food is different. Try going to a Chinese Restaraunt then go to a Japanese restaraunt. You can see and taste the difference. It would be best to go where there is a buffet that has a grill (the thing where you can watch them prepare your food at a lower price but make sure you leave a tip). Good luck.

  5. The Chinese and Japanese egg rolls are 2 different types of egg roll altogether.  The Chinese egg roll is more like spring roll only the egg roll is bigger and crunchier.  It is made of chopped vegetables and meat and deep fried.  Japanese egg roll is called tamagoyaki.  It is normally served in japanese bento lunch boxes.  It is made of eggs, dashi soup stock and sugar and fried in the flat dishpan and not deep fried. The Japanese loves to use egg in their dishes.  Apart from egg roll, they also have egg custard (my favourite) also called chawan mushi.  Have you tried it before?

  6. Japanese refer egg rolls as spring rolls just like we Chinese do.
