Question:

What kind of food is best to feed my furballs? and is it good to change it up for variety?

right now i am feedning them Iams kitten food in the purple package becasue that is what the kid at the store told me to do.....

but i bought today some food from the supermarket especially for ferrets. it has a lot of raisins in it.....what should i be feeding them??thanks!

  1. Don't feed your ferret food with raisins in it. Raisins are a treat, they are VERY high in sugar, a ferret food that has raisins added in the mix is not a good ferret food. I fed my ferret Iams kitten food his whole life and he did fine, but Some good ferret diets that you can look into are Marshalls, Totally Ferret, and Mazuri, they are reliable brands and they make very good food for ferrets. Dump the raisin food, or feed it a tiny bit every now and then as maybe a treat, but it should not be the main diet. Too much sugar can give your ferret diabete's, glaucoma (blindness) and other very terrible things.

    I don't know much about ferrets, so sorry, can't really help you :(

    It seems odd that you would be told to feed them a KITTEN diet, though. Especially a low grade cat food like IAMS.
