  1. strawberries and whipped creame in a can, mayby wine is just a suggestion.

  2. chocolate covered strwberries, champagne, orange almond salad, and someother things.... good luck!

  3. I love romantic picnics in the park.  Here are several of my favorite menu's for that special occasion:

    Menu I

    Baguette

Cheeses:  Spanish Manchega, Brie, Portobello Mushroom

    Gourmet Olives, Cornichons

    Cured Meats:  soppressata, fennel salami

Strawberries with brown sugar and sour cream dipping sauce

San Pelligrino and/or Sangeovese or Sauvignon Blanc

    Menu II:

Roasted boneless, skinless chicken b*****s, sliced

Pasta salad with sundried tomatos, olives, chopped green onion, feta cheese, cubed salami, and Italian Dressing

    Brownies

    Pinot Grigio, San Pelligrino

    Menu III:

Grilled Chicken skewers (marinate in Italian Dressing overnight)

Sliced tomatos and mozarella with basil (caprese salad)

    Gourmet Olives

    French Bread with sweet butter

    Lemon bars

    Menu IV:

    Sliced grilled London Broil

Romaine lettuce, chopped red onion, black olives, feta cheese, Caesar Dressing

Baguette with herb and garlic cream cheese

    Blondies

    Chianti/Sangeovese

    Menu VIII:

    Country pate

    French Ham

    Cornichons

    Mushroom brie

    Baguette, dijon mustard, sweet mustard

Fresh strawberries with Nutella dipping sauce

    Barbera

    Menu IX:

Sub sandwiches:  sourdough rolls spread with dijon mustard, mayonaise, topped with romaine lettuce, sliced tomatos, dill pickles, sliced turkey, provolone and wrapped in saran wrap.

    Chips

    Pickles and olives

    Oatmeal Cookies

Italian Sodas (Torani Raspberry Syrup mixed with cold San Pelligrino sparkling water)

    Menu X:

    Thermos of Beef Barley Soup

Artisan Crackers and Irish Cheddar Cheese

Vege Sandwiches:  open faced sliced baguette drizzled with olive oil, garlic, topped with tomato, spinach, mozarella.

    Brownies and lemon bars

    Sparkling cider

  4. grapes, cheese, wine

  5. OYSTERS ON THE 1/2 SHELL!

  6. finger foods that you can feed to eachother.

  7. Fresh baguette bread, two or three nice cheeses, pates, some marinated olives, prosciutto-wrapped melon, green salad (bring vinagrette dressing in a jar on the side so the salad stays fresh), bottle of wine.

Simple but elegant is the key.  Foods you don't have to eat sitting up, with a knife and fork in your hands are going to be more comfortable.  What really takes it from just a picnic to a romantic picnic dinner would be the nice picnic blanket, the real wine glasses & silverware, real plates....  Lugging around a big cooler and popping open a bucket of fried chicken is not romantic.  A nice bottle of wine (don't forget the corkscrew!) and classy finger foods/easy foods are the way to go.

  8. Hot dogs & tacos.
