    Fruits (as already mentioned). Be wary of bananas (95 calories per 100g) and avocados (175-195 calories per 100g, these are high in fat - but good fats.).



    Proteins:

    - Fish (if not battered and deep fried) - try poaching, grilling or pan frying in a small amount of oil.

    - Prawns, they have previously got bad press about them, but they are low in fat, as are mussels.

    - Lean meats, opt for chicken/turkey breast and pork loin.

    - Tofu

    - Lentils/beans other pulses.

    Cereals:

    - rice, pasta, bread - try to opt for wholegrain varieties

    - sprouted grain, such as Ezekiel breakfast cereal and oats

    - wheat noodles (no egg)

    - rice noodles

    - millet

    - quinoa

    - cous cous

    - bulghur wheat

    - polenta/cornmeal

    - baked potatoes

    Dairy:

    - opt for skimmed/no fat milk or unsweetened soy milk

    - low fat yoghurt
