What kind of foods/drinks/vitamins makes bones stronger to grow more?

Calcium rich foods (dairy products, almonds, broccoli, blueberries--kind of surprising, huh?) give bones a necessary nutrient, but it cannot be absorbed properly unless the body also receives enough vitamin D. That's why most milk sold in the US is fortified with vitamin D. The best source of vitamin D, however, is sunlight. Daily exposure for 15 minutes (without sunblock, but not long enough to get a tan) to an area of skin the size of your hands is actually enough for your body to produce the proper amount of vitamin D.
