I love butter cream frosting. Its part decadent and part everyday. In the past butter cream Frosting was mostly used on cakes with fondant, such as wedding cakes. Now (Thank you Betty Crocker!) you can get it on the shelf. It is such a lux treat!.

I've got to go with coconut frosting on a German chocolate cake.  Otherwise, I like chocolate or white frosting...but not the light, fluffy, whipped kind. Ew. Man, I wish I had some cake.

German Chocolate -the one with the coconut in it. . .

GERMAN CHOCOLATE FROSTING  

1 c. evaporated milk

1 c. sugar

3 egg yolks

1/4 lb. butter

1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/3 c. Baker's coconut

1 c. chopped pecans

Combine first 5 ingredients in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens - takes about 12 minutes. Add coconut and pecans (may substitute walnuts). Beat until frosting is cool and thick enough to spread. Makes 2 2/3 cups frosting.

Spread on your favorite German Chocolate Cake.
