I know they love strawberries, as they are helping the bunnies clean out my garden. But do they like apples? Grapes? Pineapple, etc?

3 new fledglings (I think that's what they're called) just left the nest!

  1. they like any kind of dry fruit

  2. I buy the mixed seeds and it has dried grapes and nut and sunflower seeds in it.............they go crazy when I fill up the feeder!

I know something is liking my tomatoes, I've gone to get a couple off the vine and those little buggers have already eaten half of the d**n thing........on the side you can't see.......LOL

  3. They do eat ripe the ripe cherries in my yard. I sometimes see five or six of them picking at the fruit in late summer.

  4. how about my mother in law!! lol

  5. They like pretty much any kind of fruit they get off a tree. I don't know of any wild bird, save the greedy ones, that will eat food given to them by a human. That's not entirely true, they will eat from bird feeders and drink from bird baths. But that's about it.

And seeing chicks fly for the first time is incredible. You have to wonder just how long it took them to get to that point and what they'll do next. Animals have lives that, while being much simpler, are just like our own.

  6. I don`t know what they eat. This year I have watched seven babies being hatched and then fly away. What a beautiful experience that was.
