What kind of fun things can you do in the summertime with a 4-5 month old child?

I spend way too much time just sitting around the house! Sometimes we go down to the bay or the harbor and go on a little stroll, but here in Washington, the water is too cold to actually swim. What ELSE can we do to fill our days? Suggestions!?

you can get a tiny blow up pool to splash around in.

water in cups is always fun... dumping one into the other, mixing with a wooden spoon.

squirt bottle with water.

bubbles, you blow, baby giggles.

little battery powered fan.

a mirror, the bigger the better.

search for a "mommy and me" group in your area.

get children song cd's from the library and sing and dance with the little one.

hide and seek. mommy doesn't have to hide very hard, or be quiet and completely concealed for this game to be fun.

sometimes just sitting on a blanket with toys for baby and a book for mommy is a nice way to settle down and have some quiet time.

have fun! enjoy while you can, they grow up so fast...

Find a nice pool that is heated or just buy your own. I don't care how old a baby is, they love to splash around and get things wet!

You can go to the mall, or call up some friends and see if they want to do something with you guys.  You could plan a big picnic and go with another friend who has a child, that would be fun.  Also you could find a good pool to go to, or buy one of those little blow up ones to put in the yard!  Good luck and I am sure I will be having this same issue in about 5 months, except it is going to be the middle of winter!!

You live in washington!The weather there is GREAT you should enjoy the great outdoors,take the kid to see family relatives for a change they would probley love the vists!Go shopping with the kid for new toys or vist a play park ,join a nursary so you can chat to other parents while the kid can play about and meet new people.If the waters too cold hit the swimming pool with the kid its cheap and would pass alot of time.
