Should I buy a baby normal leopard gecko for £35? Or buy a Blazing Blizzard leopard gecko morph which is older for £75?

Which would be better? This is my first lizard and I know everything about looking after them and what they require but i'm just completely stuck on what's best!

  1. i would do a leopard gecko b/c its your first one.And there not as energetic as a blazing blizzard:)

  2. kk,first off, blizzards and normals dont have no such difference at all except for their color and in your case size.So i suggest you go with your boyfriend and check these things out first.

1.tell them to feed them both and see which 1 is more energetic to eat, eventhough if they tell you they have just eaten, demand that they feed it cause most petstores just lie about it.

2.Pick them up and see which one is more friendlier.

3.see if theres anything wrong with their underside.

4.Check for any build-up of puss or anything else around their eyes, mouths and toes/legs.

5.See if theyve lost any toenails if they have there would be a huge chance of infectious desieses that could harm them and any other future leos.

6.Check their tails,if its different colored from their bodies, that means that theybe lost their tail before(not as colorful).

7.Check if theyre male of female, tests have shown that males are more energetic and friendlier than females which could get quite defensive and droopy(not friends or mates).

Males have a ^ shaped row of pores above the tail and have a hephenis bulge slightly under the pores while females have a straight row of pores and no bulge.

Well basically for me,i would choose the baby cause if you get a baby, they get used to you easier and well, gets attatched to you quicker while adults take a bit longer.

Hope i helped with all the typing, cya!

  3. They're both exactly the same to look after, after all they are still the same species, just different colour. If it's your first lizard maybe the cheaper option would be better so you have more cash to spend on it's accessories, food etc. It's really up to you weather you're willing to pay extra for an interesting colour or save your money for other things for it's care.

Edit: There's not a huge amount of difference caring for an adult then there is caring for a juvenile, except juveniles tend to be more energetic and eat more. The younger gecko would have to be fed daily whereas the adult may be fed every other day. Adults are also slightly tamer than juveniles but juvi's do mellow with age. I'd have a hard time choosing too lol. Good luck with your Leo when you decide which one you prefer! :)

  4. stick with the normal leopard gecko as its your first...keep things simple...walk before you run etc etc..I have kept them before...wonderful pets...one of the best reptiles you can keep
