  1. Depends on what you need. Household items are the most common: stuff for your kitchen, towels, sheets, pillows, bathroom accessories, etc.

If you go to a place like Target, you can ask for anything you want. I registered for and got a LIttermaid (electric cat box). My brother put a soccer ball on his just because he could. My couse had board games on his.

Even Lowe’s & Home Depot have registires, although you’ll have to ask if they’re store specific or viewable nationwide because when friends of ours did this, we had to go to the specifc store where they’d registered to get access to it. That was years ago though.

  2. Register for things that you'll need for your new home. Often, couples register for a few expensive items, such as china patterns and crystal and other items that encourage entertaining, as well as lower-priced things like toasters, towels, and spatulas. This allows guests to select a gift in their price range.

Don't register for anything that's ridiculously expensive or isn't really a household necessity - some couples register for Nintendo Wiis and plasma tvs, which is exceptionally tacky.

  3. Well I wouldn't get too crazy with the expensive items, and china, because nothing like getting only 2 sets of a expensive china set and you end up taking it back or buying the rest.  Be practical first then go for the bigger items.  Also, you might have the groom put a few tools down for use in the house, makes him feel like he matters also.

  4. If it is for your bridal SHOWER, choose things for yourself (lingerie, personal care items, etcetera).

If it is for wedding gifts, choose things that you and your new hubby will need (or want) for your home (cookware, utensils, silver flatware, china sets, crystalware, small appliances, candle sticks, knick-knack items, etcetera).

  5. Register for kitchen items (pots, pans, silverware, etc.), bathroom items, bedroom items, bbq items just things you'll need around the house.

  6. It depends on what you mean by "bridal Registry." If you mean the registry for the wedding gifts your guests will give you, then usually, as others have said, couples register for things for the home. For example, we registered for new everyday dishes, china, drinking glasses and stemware, new sheets, a comforter, pillows, pots and pans, etc. Be sure to register for things in all price ranges. Typically guests expect to spend around $100 on a wedding gift, but you should have things on there from around $10 and up. The most expensive thing we registered for was a buffet table, which was $200 at Target, and our china, which was $130 a place setting.

Some brides, I've heard, start separate registries for more "fun" type things like lingerie, make-up, etc. I won't be doing that because my fiance and I are having a joint shower (nothing overly girly), so lingerie would be kind of weird, not to mention I hate it. But for those who have just women at their shower, then these types of gifts are very typical, and the bride will often register for them in advance to get stuff she will actually use.

  7. Go to the stores that you want to use.  They have people there that will work a list up to suit your needs.  Good Luck!
