  1. The Americans, I'm pretty sure but not real, real sure, wear the brand Speedos, as well as their suits/speedos. The shiny covering is to reflect the sun when they do the backstroke I think...

  2. They're just generic tinted goggles you can find at any swim athletic store.

  3. They wear REALLY REALLY REALLY tight ones.

  4. Olympians as well as any competitive swimmer wears the goggles that fit them best, are water tight, doesn't fog up, and are the most comfortable.

The saying: "one size fits all" can't fit here as faces come in different shapes and sizes and everyone has there own comfort preferences.

With that being said, Speedo is a US Olympic team sponsor and I'm sure all of the US team has several pairs in their 'goodie bag'. However, that doesn't mean that's what they wear in the races.

The following is a list of the more popular brands used by competitive swimmers:

    Speedo

    TYR

    Barracuda

    Compo

    Rec-Specs

    Hilco

    Club Swim

The ones at the top of the list are the more popular ones.

    Hope this helps.
