I have two goldfish with black tails and fins and a black line on there head. The rest is gold. I thought they were comets but everything I read online doesn't say they have black. They also have a single tail fin that is long and shaped like a V. Very pointy dorcel fins (The fins on top, I think that's what there called). I'm trying to research them and find out how big they will get. I want to place them in a pond next year. How big do they need to be for a pond?

  1. it could be a comet or a shubunkin  for two comets or shubunkin  the wider the better and deep enough for winter.  depth minimum of 4ft.

  2. They sound like comets to me. They can go in a pond now. They do great in ponds, I had a couple and they got about 6 inches, not sure how big they'll grow to. Shuebuken Gold fish are more of a calico and they do great in ponds also.

  3. i have one like that too! its like a black color on him. its a comet fish and they have to be in a 180 or 170 gallon poond and they grow to 1" to 2"
