  1. here are some tips:

check online retailers for last year's models at a great price (i like nike irons, titleist woods)

get one sleeve of titleist pro v1 and a dozen cheaper balls (around $20). Hit the cheap ones off the tee and when you are close enough to the green that you wont hit it out of bounds/water, pick up the cheapo ball and replace it with the pro v for better feel and spin. Technically it isnt allowed but if i am not in a tournament then i do this so i dont hit a 4 dollar ball out of bounds. odyssey putters are pretty nice too.

  2. Buy the most expensive set you can afford. Check with the pro shop at your local course and ask for their advice. You might also want to check out the site in the source link - they have tons of reviews and videos of golf clubs and gear.

  3. ok people say pro v1 or pro v1x they are expensive i use a simple cheap ball the callaway big bertha they have good feel and last long 19.99$ a dozen

  4. Go to a golf store and most of them will let you try the clubs. Just take the most comfortable one. With balls just buy different ones and Use the ones you like

  5. Callaway HX Hot Golf Balls costs around $24.95 .3-piece construction: Durable ionomer cover for long drives and even longer playability.

    TaylorMade Men's r7 Draw Fairway #3 Wood costs $179.99

  6. I would go for a set of clubs that have been on the market for a couple of years.  Lots of mark downs happen as newer models of clubs are released.

GolfBargainHunters.com has up-to-date specials from a lot of the online and offline golf stores.

As for balls, that depends on a lot of factors, one of which is skill level.  The golf ball won't matter as much if the golfer is a high handicap.

  7. pro v1x or the tour ix and callawy or titlest

  8. I have Lynx clubs. I think they work great for me. Also don't buy clubs you don't think you need. I only started out with 11 clubs my freshmen year, and I did good with that. It might be better not to buy the brand new clubs because they always cost more.

If you lose a lot of golf balls don't go out and buy the expensive Nike balls. I use Ultra balls and they work arn't that expensive.

  9. If you have a set of irons or woods that you want you should look on ebay because you can get some great deals on golf club. If you don't have a lot of money try to look at spin offs of the real thing. I got spin offs of the Callaway XL-20s for like 150 dollars, they look exactly the same but they just do not have the Callaway name on them. Golf balls are also a good thing to look at they will sometimes have pro v1 for like 95 dollars for 3 dozen. Callaway tour ix or tour i going for like 110 dollars for 3 dozen. But if you try to look at used golf balls you can get even a greater deal.

  10. Learn to use the clubs you now own. When you get the score average  down to the low single digits hen think about clubs. As for a ball any one which feels good when properly struck is good for the game.

  11. Find yourself a full set of clubs at Target or K-Mart that are not stiff flexed.  Depending on your height, you may want to consider shortening them if your are short.  Get a set with a stand bag as you will most likely be walking most of the time.  The set will come with a putter that may not suit you or that you do not like.  Find yourself a putter that you do like and replace it.  Again, cut it down if it is too long.  As for golf balls I play Ti-Techs from Walmart.  They are very inexpensive and feel great.  Check the golf equipment review sites and you will see that many people like these balls.  The best thing you can do for yourself is to get lessons.
