  1. New Zealand Education changed quite alot a few years ago, they used to have something similar to australia's HSC (sixth form certificate in NZ)

They now use NCEA, which is a credit system. So you need to get X amount of credits to pass, credits are counted overall through the year some of these will come from end of year exams etc. Its a pretty good system that lets the under average people have a chance as well

  2. We have a Democracy Govt lead by Prime Minister Helen Clark (Labour Party)

    Schooling System:

NCEA Level 1 - 5th form (3rd year in High School)

NCEA Level 2 - 6th form (4th year in High School)

NCEA Level 3 - 7th form (5th year in High School)

In NCEA Level 1 you need 80 credits at level 1,2, or 3 to pass. 8 need to be in English and 8 need to be in Maths. Credits are accumulated from internal test and assessments throughout the year and external exams at the end of the year over about 6 or 7 subjects.

NCEA Level 2 needs 60 credits at level 2 or above plus 20 from any other level (1 or 3)

NCEA Level 3 needs 60 credits at level 3 plus 20 credits at level 2 or 3.

All levels have internal and external exams.

High school starts at ages 12/13 - 17/18 depending on which month your born.

To get into University you need a minimum of 42 credits at level 3 - minimum of 8 credits in english level 2 and minimum of 14 credits in maths level 1.

  3. Government type:  parliamentary democracy

    Executive branch:

Prime Minister Helen CLARK (since 10 December 1999); Deputy Prime Minister Michael CULLEN (since July 2002)
