Again, this is at a house I was looking at. It talks about horses and how they are ok - somewhere in the description, so i put this in the horse section.

it says in the description :::

"Nice grass, timothy and subclover"

Is that the name of the grass?

  1. Timothy is a grass.  It is primarily a hay grass not a pasture grass though because eating it off too closely tends to kill it.  That said it is one of the best horse grasses available, with lots of nutrition and lots of leaves which grow up the seed stalk as well as around the base.

Subclover is subterranean clover native to the Mediterranean area.  I am not too familiar with it but it is considered good grazing and nutritious and is also considered a cool season legume.  It does well in well drained sandy soil.

Both are considered good for horses.
