It really depends on what kind of music you want to play. So for example rock/heavy metal --> Electric guitar

For everybody, I recommend a small, economical acoustic !

If you continue to learn, from there you can go to a full size acoustic, an expensive acoustic, or an electric , if you prefer that type of music !

That way, if you change your mind, you won't be out that much money !
