What kind of guitar should i get ?

my boyfriends birthday is coming up and hes a huge guitar freak and i would liek to get him one but i dont have alot of money and i found a dean baby z electric gutiar and its not that expensive so is that a good guitar or should i look for a diffrent one ?

I don't have it but I think that the epiphone les paul special II looks very good and is affordable. By all the reviews, comments and descriptions it seems to be a great guitar as well. It is around $180 and if you don't mind spending an extra $40, then you can get the player pack which comes with an amp and all the other accessories.
