You should just do your hair in a bunch of braids before you sleep then take them out in the morning add some light hair spray (use frizz ease weather one its good but any hair spray will do ) and mess it up with your fingers . Its the quickest cutest waves you can get for cheap .

The appliances they used are curling irons its about 20 or less bucks in your store but maybe a sister or someone can lend it too you . Also see if your mom has rollers if you are afraid of burning yourself .

It's a wave iron, also sometimes called a wave crimper or a 3-barrel curling iron.  They are so fun!  Here's what they look like:

I've seen them at Walmart, Kmart, Target, and grocery store beauty sections.  There are a lot of different brands and wide range of prices, but you might have to shop around.

its looks like they put theyre hair in braids, let it dry, then took it out. it doesnt look like a curling iron to me. they probably work forEVER on theyre hair before these vids tho. try putting your hair in several very tight braids while your hair is wet and waiting until they are COMPLETELY dry, and taking them out. might want to use some leave-in conditiner beforehand tho, so that if/when you brush it out, the brush runs through your hair easily and you dont have to work at it therefore releasing the wave. use a brush with very spread-out, plastic bristles. dont use hogshair brushes or any like that whilw its wavy like that. i hope i helped!
