What kind of hair cut to get?

I just asked a question about how I looked and a lot of people said I should get a haircut. I have NO clue what to get. Whenever I try to grow my hair out any more than it is, it gets kind of wavy and weird looking. I don't know if you think that looks good or what but I was just wondering what the best hairstyle would be on me. If I should keep it the same way, get it cut, or let it grow out. Please include pics.

Get a wavy fauxhawk

Use gel, pomade, or hair wax to get it like that.( I suggest wax or pomade, it dries faster )

get the sides a little short ( not as short as the pic )

and leave it long at the top ( not as long as the pic )
