  1. It's called Carrot Halwa (or Gajjar ka Halwa), but it is not made with cream of wheat or semolina.  Halwa made with cream of wheat or semolina is known as sooji ki halwa (or sheera):

  2. Gaajar(carrot)  halwa.

  3. Its acutally called sooji ka halwa and u dont put carrots in it. Carrot Halwa is different u dont add cream of wheat to it. You actually add very little to it....Milk,sugar,ilaychee,raisins,nuts (cashews or almonds) and some khoya.

  4. It's called suji ka halwa.  This version has carrots added:

    Suji Ka Halwa (Semolina Pudding)

    Ingredients

    1 cup suji (semolina)

    ¾ cup sugar

    1.5 cup whole milk

    1.5 cup water

3 tablespoon ghee, butter or margarine

    1/ teaspoon cardamom (Elaichi)

    1/4 cup shredded carrots

    2 tablespoon raisin

    Garnish

    2 tablespoon raisin

    2 tablespoon cashew nuts

    Preparation

Heat ghee, butter or margarine in a wok.

Add Cardamom and heat few seconds in medium heat.

Add Semolina and heat for few minutes with constant stirring in low-medium heat.

Add sugar and half of both raisin, and cashew. Heat few more minutes in low-medium heat.

Add water, carrots and milk. Mix well and heat until you get desired consistency. (Usually somewhat like watery dough or thick pudding)

Garnish with remaining raisin and cashew nuts.

Serve either hot (preferred) or cold.

  5. hal vah or hal va

    NOUN:

A confection consisting of crushed sesame seeds in a binder of honey.

Looks to me to be a substitute for sugar

The raisins for a odd texture and the carrot for the color

I am surprised no mention of a pinch of Cinnamon
