I'm looking for a good headset, any particular brands? And what kinds of features should I look for? Any websites? Thanks!

  1. I've had a LightSPEED Zulu for a month now.   Way better than Bose or David Clark.   Works perfectly with my phone and MP3 player.  Very good on batteries.   Super comfortable.

  2. The one that are regular for CD players and i think they are some that is called aqua blue or i think they are the same.

  3. David Clark is the industry standard. They're the aqua blue headsets you probably see every pilot wear.

  4. Dave Clarks

  5. Any aspiring helicopter pilot is going to pay their dues building time in any number of different ships, piston and turbine.  And all of them noisy as h**l after hours of flying them. Just make sure they have an Active Noise Reduction capability built into the head phones.  It has been a common feature on better headsets for years.  Do yourself a favor and protect your hearing by getting a good set with this feature.  And believe it or not, you will also be less fatigued at the end of the day.

  6. David Clarks used to be the industry standard.

However, Lightspeed makes some awesome headsets and their noise reduction is better than the DCs. And... they are generally less expensive.

MAKE SURE you tell them you will be flying a helicopter - and not a fixed wing. There are different connectors.
