What kind of healthcare is offered to me when I am working abroad in London?

I am going to be working abroad in London for 6 months. I was wondering what kind of health care I can receive in the UK as a US citizen.

I lived in Belfast, and it was no problem going to the doctor, you are covered by the healthcare system there(I know coming from America too it is quite a shock!)

We get the NHS which is totally free so you might get that but I don't really know if foreigners can.
