What kind of help will a 16 year old mother recieve from the government in Ontario?

She will be living in a basement apartment with me (19yr old bf) and she'll be going to highschool. What kind of help can we expect from the Ontario government?

You shouldn't "expect" anything.  If you're mature enough to be having s*x, then you should be mature enough to take care of yourselves.  It's not the governments problem/responsibility, it's yours.

You can apply for welfare or even student welfare and still go to school eventually when the baby is old enough for daycare that you could get for free.  You also can get baby bonus and child tax benefit which is about $250 + whatever welfare is.  You can get another supplement too which is about $5000 a year but I forget what it is.  Call your local city hall and let them know you would like to apply for welfare and they'll hook you up with the right number and extension.

You can also get into a program that is local in Ontario.  Find a partner's in employment office (usually where you can look up jobs on the job bank for ontario and canada) and you can get into a program in college or university for free.  The program will be one year and you'll start off making about $40 000 a year from the job.  Usually it's medical technician, ultrasound technician, pharmacy technician, police officer, stuff like that....most programs under one year long you can get for free.  You also get free daycare if you only make so much when you enroll and it's all free that you never have to pay back.

Mothers allowance (i think its called something different now) and Childrens tax benefit (which is 100 dollars a month)

But she needs to file income tax to get those, i believe.

Hello Dear, There is nothing wrong to ask for the suggestions for the help. I think you should contact to your local state government halls or authorities who takes care of this. Or any social society help group can help you in this. And pls do not feel bad if people are not responding and behaving good with you because they are insane, You take care of your girl and baby and njoy your life.
