  1. You could buy an HUMMER H3 or AUDI Q7.

  2. The 2009 Ford Escape should be better than the 2008, but the fuel economy is only 1 mpg better.  We'll be driving on gasoline for much longer than the life of your next car.

  3. The Ford Escape Hybrid is a nice reliable SUV.

Where I am here in New York City, the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission has been using the Escape Hybrid as taxi cabs since 2004, and the first batch has gone 200,000 miles without any major problems: http://www.dailytech.com/Ford+Escape+Hyb...

And NOBODY abuses their cars as badly as New York City taxi drivers.  If the Escape Hybrid can withstand that kind of abuse, it's a very tough car indeed.  :-)

Better yet, Uncle Sam will actually help you out with a $3000 Federal Tax Credit if you buy a 2008 Escape Hybrid 2WD:  http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=176...

    Hope this helps.

  4. Toyota Highlander Hybrid
