  1. Chicken, pork, lobster, fish and, to a lesser degree, beef and lamb are traditional Cuban meat staples.

    Black beans, rice, yuca (cassava), malanga (sweet potato), boniato (yam) and plátanos (plantains) are the leading legumes and starches.

    Basically a combination of Spanish, African and Caribean Traditions.

    Cubans eat a ton of pork, and "lechon" (roast leg of pork) is at the top of the list.
