I will also have completed some courses for education for students with disabilities. I'm not sure what kind of job I can get working with students with only an associates. I know to actually teach what I want I have to complete a Bachelors. But I would like to take some time off from school and start working before I pursue my Bachelors. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions? I would appreciate it. Thank you.

  1. Depending on which state you are in:  Most public schools will hire educational assistants to help with disabled students.  Where I teach, you need a high school diploma, so you chances of getting that job would likely be double with an associates degree.  many school districts also offer to reimburse tuition for educational aides and substitutes to get their teaching certification.

  2. Try talking with your advisor or whoever does that in your school to see if they have any suggestions in your area.  Teacher's aides, especially in the area of student's with disabilites, are always in demand.

    Good luck!
