I worked in London 10 years ago, it wasn't very difficult to find a job. what about now?

any jobs, the british people get too much money for doing nothing, so no longer need to work, i was holding interviews today, for a job within my company, i had 18 people on my list and olny 7 turned up, what a waste of a day.
