I'm thinking of moving to Cancun and was wondering what kind of jobs there would be for me. I'm skilled in typing, Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. I'm bilingual and learning French and Japanese. I'm 19 years old! Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much!

  1. 1st answerer is correct.  you cannot work in Mexico without a work visa and the only way to get one is to find an employer who will write a letter to immigration stating he cannot find a Mexico for that job.  Then he sponsors your work visa.  There are thousands of Mexicans, including many bilingual, avail. for those hotel jobs.  Unless you have higher education and a rare job skill, you are not likely to get a work visa...they are not granted for low skill jobs.  Also, jobs in Mexico pay less than $10.00 a day.  Nearly impossible for an American to work in Mexico

  2. Have you checked with the Mexican Consul whether or not you can get a work permit in Mexico.

Mexico encourages their citizens to enter the USA illegally and go to work there but it isn't very keen on having

non-Mexicans go to work in Mexico.

If you can get a work permit - there would be jobs available in the Hotel Industry.
