I'm sick of doing chores, raking leaves cutting grass, washing cars, etc. I want a real job! I am currently babysitting family (soon 2 families), but I want more of a real job with a better pay. I get paid 5 dollars an hour and I usually babysit for 2-3 hours. so thats like 10-15 dollars. Any Ideas of jobs I can do with a bit of a better pay?

just letting you know, I wouldn't want to sell things on Ebay =]

  1. Well I can tell you it all depends what state you live in. The labor laws are different in each state. In maine you have to be 14 to work at businesses. For example you need to be 14 and have a work permit. A work permit must be issued by your school after you are "hired" by the company, but you can't start working till the company receives your work permit

  2. if ur willing to get down and dirty u could be a maid.

    Just look for big houses

  3. legally; none.  NO employer is permitted

to hire anyone [in the US] at your age.

That is why I began self-employment

at that age; selling orange juice, cutting

    lawns, etc.

  4. Most places dont hire until you're 16.

  5. Well you could babysit or if your parents own a restuarant than you could ask them to if you could b a waitress cause i have a friend that is 12 and he works at his dads restuarant

  6. you cant sell on ebay inless your 18

and work at a fastfood place they'll hire you

  7. Unless you live in New Jersey or the United Kingdom, you cannot work at 13. In fact, most places won't hire you until you're 16 or 18. Fast food places will hire at 14, only the work is terrible, the pay is bad, and it's just overall a terrible experience that advances you little and teaches you nothing. So, I'd say be patient.

Although, if you live in the Midwest, you can start detassling when you're 12. It's pure, unceremonial h**l for 12 hours from five A.M. to five in the afternoon in either hot, sweltering fields or terrible, muddy rainstorms, for two weeks. Although, in that two weeks, you can make 1000 dollars.

I'd suggest just waiting. Honestly, you're 13, is there really a need for a job?

  8. Babysitting is definitely your best bet. Try posting flyers, I don't know where you live, but the standard rate for babysitting is / should be $10 an hour... Get connections!

Also, you can try getting a work permit and you might be able to work busing tables, thats probably it though, and you might be too young for even that...

  9. when i was about 12 or so i got a job putting flyers in doors in the neighborhood for a local pizza place. paid about 5 bucks for 2 hours of work, but it was easy. then again, that was about 12 years ago. lol. good luck!

  10. i think that you should continuo babysitting, advertise your self to get more buisess.

hope this helps. im 14 and from ireland. if you want to talk about something then email me.

    hope this helps

  11. Hiya,

I'm also thirteen, I do a newspaper round and earn 40pounsd a month..

    XX

  12. You can get an after school job at like mcdonalds or an ice cream place. That can give you a reasonable pay. Like $7.50 a hour (For the ice cream place) and its after school, so u can like work for three hours after school, and only two days a week. http://jobsearch.about.com/od/teenstuden...

  13. personally i think most jobs that would be available to you at 13 would be like retail or customer service type things. hope that can give you a rough idea
