  1. I have a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from one of the top accredited colleges on criminal justice.  Basically, there are many jobs you can obtain with that degree without carrying a firearm.  I did not want to carry a firearm, either.  I worked as a parole officer for the Texas Dept. Of Criminal Justice Parole Division.  I worked as a MHMR caseworker and as a correctional counselor inside the prison as well. (Don't be fooled by the term counselor).  There was no counseling involved.  It was mainly classifying the inmates and paperwork.  I am currently a private investigator, which also does not allow for us to carry a firearm.  You could work as a social worker like I did for MHMR.  You could work for Child Protective Services.  Let's see what else....You could be a county adult or juvenile probation officer.  You could be a prison guard---they don't carry firearms.  You could work in internal theft departments for a variety of companies.  I hope this helps.

  2. One of the more interesting is analyst. An analyst is a specialist in using databases of public and intelligence data to locate people, work out criminal associations, and connect crimes into patterns and crimes that may have been done by the same actors. Criminal justice with as much applied computer science as you can get will help. A lot of stuff wouldn't be cleared or would be far more difficult without the analysts.

  3. You can be a probation officer, or within the police department you can be a jail officer, a community service officer (which works in traffic, writing tickets and towing cars), you can be a civilian detective (they usually work in financial crimes); or you can go the court route and become a district attorney. Best of luck to whichever you choose!!
