  1. I agree, there should not be an AA in nursing.  An AS is a minimum, and that's only for LPN, and I think you wanted registered nurse.  An associates such as yours is entry level in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, doctor's offices and possibly non-profits that deal with healthcare.  Many public schools now have distance learning for nursing, since the need is so high, so I would investigate that while you are seeking a job in healthcare.

  2. Neither of those fields should be an AA (Associate of Arts), they should be an AAS (Associate of Applied Science) or an AS (Associate of Science).

An associates in health admin should get you prepared for entry level administrative/support jobs in hospitals and the physician's office.  These are jobs that make appointments, file insurance forms, help store records, etc...  Management/supervisory positions in health admin usually require at least a bachelor's degree and usually a master's in health administration (MHA).

If your health admin degree is an Associate of Arts, use that degree to go on for a bachelor's and later a master's in the field.

An associates in nursing will qualify you to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become a registered nurse.

Add:  contrary to what many people want to believe, the AS in Nursing is the degree that prepares RNs.  LPNs don't have a degree, they get 9 months of training.  A paramedic has more training than an LPN.  Again, AS in Nursing = RN.  The BSN is for advanced nurses that provide supervision to those RNs and the MSN is for very advanced nurses that are allowed some serious individual privilege.  With an AS in Nursing and the state license as an RN, you can expect to be able to go anywhere in the US and have a job tomorrow making about $50,000.  People that have a bachelor's degree sometimes don't like to hear that.  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚˜Âº
