you are qualified to get any of the jobs that a person with a regular high school diploma has .... there is actually a law of discrimination that the job fields have to abide by , so just because you have a GED doesn't mean you wont qualify for the average job....it is still considered a diploma .

Prison guard. Having human waste thrown on you isn't that bad for 10 dollars an hour.

I have a G.E.D.  and I can get the same jobs as I would if I had a highschool diploma.  In some more urban areas a G.E.D. is better looking than a HS diploma because the schools have to meet certain guidelines for tax funding purposes.  Therefore letting some studients "slide"  for higher graduation rates.  However, you can learn more with a HS diploma and with some colleges a HS diploma looks better of is required.  Also some colleges offer scholorships for high G.E.D. scores.
